Spacetalk Adventurer 2

A kids' 4G watch with calls, video calls, texts, GPS location, an SOS button and a 5MP camera, but no social media or web browser.

Makes calls on 1 of 16 networks

4G calling: 1 from $299

SIM lock: In Australia the watch is "Locked to Spacetalk Mobile - Telstra wholesale network" and comes with a preinstalled Spacetalk Mobile SIM (spacetalk.co AU product page). Spacetalk also says its watches are "soft locked to Spacetalk Watch Plans in Australia, the UK and USA" and "You can use a third-party SIM, however an additional fee and an active Spacetalk Watch App subscription fee applies" (same page). UK: "powered by Spacetalk Mobile, partnered with Vodafone" with a 4G SIM in the box (spacetalk.co/en-gb product page). Ireland and New Zealand: sold as "no-sim"; "An active Spacetalk Watch App subscription and a SIM Card and Mobile Plan from your preferred local carrier is required" (spacetalk.co/en-ie and /en-nz product pages); no carrier named. UK plan price conflict: the UK collection page says plans "start from £8.99 per month", the UK help-centre article lists one plan at £30/month. Parent app: needed. "Simply download the Spacetalk App, make sure your wearable SIM is active, and follow the step-by-step prompts in the app" (Spacetalk product page); JB Hi-Fi: the Spacetalk App "is also required to set up and manage all watch features". Not listed in the US: the en-us store lists only Adventurer 1 accessories.

Still being verified: 4G calling: from Spacetalk's wording '4G Video, Voice Calls & Text'; VoLTE is not named as such, radio for GB, IE and NZ: the GCF record names one model (ST3-4G-1); not confirmed that the UK/IE/NZ units are the same model, maps, hotspot, email, dual sim, headphone jack, usb c: not stated (charges on a dock with a USB-C cable), network reports: Spacetalk's own-SIM networks are recorded as caveats, not works, because a Telstra or Vodafone SIM is not what makes it work.
