Does the Punkt MP02 work on Public Mobile?

We can't confirm Public Mobile enables 4G calling on this phone, which it needs to make calls. We don't recommend it for Public Mobile until we can.

How we worked it out

2G calls: Public Mobile has no 2G network.
4G bands: Shares 4G bands with Public Mobile: B2, B4, B5, B7, B12, B17.
4G calling: Public Mobile only enables 4G calling on approved phones, and we haven't confirmed this one.

Public Mobile runs on Telus's network, so it uses Telus's masts and bands.

About 2G: Telus never ran a 2G GSM network: its older network was CDMA, shut down in 2017. Telus says that after 3G closes on 1 March 2027, every phone needs 4G calling to make calls.

About 4G calling: Public Mobile says not every phone that supports 4G calling is certified for it, and checks phones by IMEI.
