Do dumb phones work on UScellular?
Not any we can confirm yet. Here's what we know about UScellular, and where you can get a phone that we've confirmed makes calls.
UScellular runs on T-Mobile's network.
T-Mobile bought UScellular's wireless business on 1 August 2025 and is moving its customers onto T-Mobile. You can't sign up with UScellular any more: uscellular.com now goes to T-Mobile. When an account moves, T-Mobile checks the phone works on its network, and if it doesn't you need a new phone and SIM within 30 days. So the phones that work for UScellular customers are the ones we've confirmed on T-Mobile, linked below.
- 2G: Off. T-Mobile switched off 2G on 3 August 2026, and 3G on 1 July 2022.
- 3G: Off. Switched off: 1 July 2022. When 2G and 3G switch off
- 4G calling for phones they didn't sell: Not confirmed. T-Mobile says most unlocked phones can work, but it can't guarantee phones it didn't sell and asks you to check your phone supports 4G calling.
We can't yet confirm any of the phones we list make calls on UScellular.
