Does the HMD 105 work on Vi (Vodafone Idea)?

Works (on 2G)

Calls and texts work on Vi (Vodafone Idea) using 2G. They'll stop working when 2G is switched off unless 4G calling gets enabled.

Last checked 25 October 2026.

How we worked it out

2G calls: The phone supports 2G and Vi (Vodafone Idea)'s 2G network is still on.
4G bands: No 4G bands in common with Vi (Vodafone Idea).
4G calling: The phone doesn't support 4G calling (VoLTE).

About 2G: Vi still runs 2G and hasn't announced a date to close it. It has closed 3G in some circles (Maharashtra, Gujarat, Mumbai, Kolkata and Andhra Pradesh by January 2024) and aimed to finish by March 2025.

About 4G calling: Vi says every handset launched after 1 January 2020 is VoLTE compatible, once VoLTE is switched on.
